The Agusan del Sur Sate College of Agricultu and technology (ASSCAT) started as a settlement known as Manobo Farm School for the people for upper Agusan in 1908, toprovide basic education and upgrade their farming skills. It later became the later Bunawan National Agricultural School on June 17, 1948 through R.A. 301 sponsored by former congressman Marcos L. Calo. On June 21, 1969 it was changed into Southern Agusan National Agricultural College by virtue of R.A. 5917 passes by former Congressman Jose C. Aquino.
In 1974- 1975, the college offer the two-year Post –Secondary Agricultural Technician Curriculum which was subsequently realigned to the laderized type Diploma in Agricultural Technology leadiong to a four-year Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology (DAT-BAT).
Commencing the first semester of school year 1992-1993, two(2) additional courses were offered: a) Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSed) major in Technology and Home Economics (TH..E.) and b) Bachelor of Elementary Education(B.E.ed) with concentration in work Eduication (DECS ORDER NO. 88 s. 1992).
On the same year, Congressman Ceferino S. Paredes, Jr. sponsored to the Batasang Pambansa House Bill 1432 for the conversion of SANAC into a state college which was also indorsed by Senator Edgardo J. Angara through Senate Bill No. 1690. On March 1, 1995, it was signed by Fidel V. Ramos by Virtue of RA 7932 converting SANAC into Agusan Del Su

Everytime na binibisita namin xa Wala xang ibang kinikwento sa Amin Kung paano nya pinagsikapang I angat Ang asscat, na alala ko pa subrang saya nyang dinidetalye paano sya naki usap sa governor plaza dati pra tulungan xa maitaguyod Ang asscat at ma aprobahan Ang mga programang gusto nyang IPA tupad 😌😌😌 almost 18 years ata xang principal nang asscat at kahit nag retire na xa ung sumunod sa kanya xa parin pinupuntahan pag nagkaka poblema Ang school and ung Lola ko Naman and auntie Jan parin nang tuturo c lola Patricia badua, at auntie demetria badua marso ..pati ata pinsan q Jan din hanggang ngayon ..
